I’ve always been a fan of vintage, but some shops leave me feeling like they are too cool for school and that if I dare wear their digs out of the store, they would laugh behind my back and call me a wannabe. At Nostaglic Alley, it is polar opposite. Veronica, the owner, is just edible and makes me feel like a million bucks every time I visit - whether I bust out my credit card or not. She’s personable and loves helping to dig up the perfect finds to match my personality. And she doesn’t even flinch when hesitantly have to be that annoying guy and try on everything that the mannequins are sporting.
On one of my first visits I bought a rockin vest and a Ben Sherma

Nostalgic Alley is one of the best kept secrets on seventh (4532 N. 7th Street to be exact). Ever since I first stumbled upon the retro treasure (after getting my tan on at Tangible) I knew that I had found a killer new place to fill my closet. The store is upscale thrifty with lots of vintage flair. It’s a one of a kind that makes me feel like I’m shopping the streets of San Francisco and makes my inner shopaholic heart skip a beat for a bargain.
Now I won’t deny my love for Buffalo Exchange, the fat cat of recycled hipster fashion. They’ve dressed me to be cooler than I actually am for years, but in comparison, I would have to say the fashionistas at Nostalgic Alley have made it fun to shop second hand again. The racks here are easy to peruse and the amount of threads in stock are perfect for someone with a short attention span such as mine. It’s just enough to have a miniature fashion show starring myself in their funky-fun dressing rooms without making me feel overwhelmed with too many things to choose from.
